I was born on August 14, 1981, in Split. I currently live and work in Zagreb. I graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb in 2008, and I am currently completing my doctoral dissertation at the Doctoral School of the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, Cultural Studies – Management in Culture, Arts and Education. In 2002, I was appointed Coordinator, and in 2008, Executive Director of the Zagreb Film Festival, the largest international film festival in Croatia. As part of the artistic organization Zagreb Film Festival, from 2008 to 2019, I held the position of Executive Director of the Cinema Europa in Zagreb, at that time, one of the most important independent cultural and artistic institutions in this part of Europe. In 2016, Cinema Europa received the Europa Cinemas award for best programming in Europe, which is one of the highest international recognitions for a Croatian cultural institution since the country’s independence. I was permanently employed at the artistic organization Zagreb Film Festival for a little over 14 years. From 2009 to 2013, I was a member of the Board of Directors of the worldwide network of art cinemas CICAE, and from 2017 to 2019, an expert associate of the Europa Cinemas network. Since 2013, as a lecturer and participant in round tables across Europe, I have been speaking about innovations in culture, cultural policy and management, and cinema screening. I am one of the founders and the first president of the Croatian network of independent movie theaters (from 2014 to 2018). In 2017, the Croatian Association of Producers awarded me the annual "Albert Kapović" award for outstanding work in the promotion of film art. Od 2009. do 2013. godine bio sam član Upravnog odbora svjetske mreže umjetničkih kina CICAE, a od 2017. do 2019. godine stručni suradnik mreže Europa Cinemas. Od 2013. godine kao predavač i sudionik okruglih stolova diljem Europe govorim o inovativnostima u kulturi, kulturnoj politici i menadžmentu te kinoprikazivaštvu. Jedan sam od osnivača te prvi predsjednik Hrvatske mreže neovisnih kinoprikazivača (od 2014. do 2018. godine). 2017. godine mi Hrvatska udruga producenata dodjeljuje godišnju nagradu "Albert Kapović" za istaknuti rad u promicanju filmske umjetnosti. Since 2022, I have been a member of the European Commission’s Panel of Experts for the evaluation of applications, selection and monitoring of the European Capitals of Culture. In the same year, I also became one of the experts evaluating the projects submitted to public calls of the Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-program. In 2022, I was appointed by the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a consultant on establishing and launching the first art cinema in that country. I am a member of the European Film Academy and the Croatian Association of Producers, of which I was vice president from 2019 to 2021. In addition to the above, from 1998 to the present day, I have initiated and/or organized a number of cultural, artistic and educational projects and programs.
